EXPERIENCE

I'm Naomi. I identify as part of the LGBTQIA + community and use she/they pronouns. I trained as a therapist in Melbourne, Australia. Themes I have trained in and work with include grief, anxiety, depression, alcohol & drugs, cross-culture counselling, neurodiversity, trauma, family and relationships.

I have extensive training and experience in working with young adults (18 - 35) and GSRD (gender, sexual and relationship diverse) clients. My experience includes working as a freelance psychotherapist for MIND, a university campus counsellor and as a LGBTQIA+ crisis line telephone counsellor.

I'm an integrative therapist, which means I draw on several modalities. This is likely to include person-centred, compassion-focussed, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic, attachment, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and existential approaches. Where appropriate, I use my experience as a meditation and breathwork teacher to work somatically with the body.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the food industry as a start-up founder and then as a marketing and branding manager and consultant for other start-ups. I have also written a cookbook.

THERAPY WITH ME

I aim to create a friendly, warm space where clients feel safe and able to open up in their own time. I'm aware that therapy can be a daunting prospect, so I will ease you into the process as much as I can. I won't probe you with questions, nor will I sit silently making notes, instead we will collaborate to find our own rhythm and way of working.

I hope to provide clients with tools to allow them to deal with the challenges that life can bring. This may be learning how to manage a diagnosis of adhd, dealing with challenging interpersonal relationships, alleviating social anxiety, or coping with feelings of low mood. The therapy space can also be used to process past experiences or as a sounding board to explore a new identity or a different direction in life.

Kayaking

If you are interested in therapy, I usually suggest a short intro call to see if it feels like a good fit and if our schedules align. From there we can book in a 1 off session and following that you can decide if you want to book in for regular therapy.

Fees for sessions are £80.

Weekly, fortnightly, short & long term therapy is available

I work via zoom and in person from my practise on Brick Lane (Shoreditch).
